Associate Artistic Director, Camerata
Mrs. Robbins’ performance experience has fueled her lifelong passion for working with singers of all ages. As a school choir director and music teacher for over 20 years in Houston, Texas and Superior, Wisconsin, choirs under her direction received superior ratings at numerous contests and festivals, and her school music groups perform regularly for annual civic events. As a soprano soloist, Mrs. Robbins has been praised by the Boston Globe for her “drop-dead coloratura virtuosity” and singled out by Opera Magazine (UK) for her “remarkable debut” with the Chicago Opera Theater. From 2004 to 2008, Mrs. Robbins sang with the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Conspirare, directed by Craig Hella Johnson, performing on their recording Requiem (2006 twice Grammy-nominated album). Mrs. Robbins is the choir director at Superior High School. She and her husband, Richard, have five beautiful children.
