Prelude is an eight week, non-auditioned, introductory vocal experience for singers in grades 2-5, directed by Dr. Sarah Ludwig. In Prelude, singers learn basic music theory, how to develop an ensemble, and basic vocal technique. Participation in LSYC's Holiday or Spring Concert rounds out the Prelude experience. Prelude is offered during both the fall and spring semesters, often at multiple locations around the Twin Ports. Singers involved in Prelude are encouraged to audition for the Lake Superior Youth Chorus' resident choir program as well.

LSYC's Annual Honor Choir

This one-day event held each March is designed to give 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students a memorable musical experience, and to provide teachers with an opportunity to observe, share, and learn. Select area singers in grades 4-6 will join LSYC singers and directors in this exciting day of choral music-making. The day concludes with a concert. All singers must be nominated by their school music teacher.

Summer Sing

Students can discover their voices at Lake Superior Youth Chorus' Summer Sing! This annual day camp held each August is open to singers entering grades 2-5 in the fall. Any student who loves to sing is invited to participate in this fun-filled week of singing, music fundamentals, movement, and other activities. All Summer Sing participants will receive an LSYC water bottle, t-shirt, and tote bag. Lunch and snacks will be provided daily.
