RYLEE NEWTON

Ms. Rylee Newton is the choir teacher at Superior Middle School in Superior, WI where she directs several curricular and co-curricular ensembles. After working as a Music Intern with Lake Superior Youth Chorus for four years, she accepted a permanent position with the organization as Outreach Coordinator. In addition to overseeing LSYC’s four Outreach Programs (Prelude, Summer Sing, Honor Choir, and Youth Choir Festival), Ms. Newton also directs the training choir, Cadenza.

Ms. Newton graduated with a degree in Music Education in 2021 from The College of St. Scholastica. In 2020, she was awarded the Jerry Kaldor Outstanding Service Award by the Lake Superior Youth Chorus, and in 2021 was named the Minnesota State Student Employee of the Year for her work with LSYC. Ms. Newton’s love of music and singing has grown exponentially throughout her time in the Twin Ports region, and she is grateful to the Lake Superior Youth Chorus for the opportunity to help provide high quality choral music education for all.
